ÅBNE SCENE
Åbne Scene is a risk-taking workspace for professional performing arts. A place where experimentation and process have room to thrive. Where there is time and freedom to develop, exchange, and explore. To be curious and gain insight.
For the audience / meet the artists and experience art in process
Åbne Scene presents a diverse, curated program of performing arts projects. And we invite everyone interested in creative processes to have a look inside the aesthetic engine room. Into the artist’s laboratory. Into what lies behind a work or a practice. All projects in the program share their work with the world, for example, through work-in-process showings and talks.
Our work-in-process events are free for the audience to participate in. You can sign up for our invitation list and receive information about events directly in your inbox, or view the current program here.
For artists / residencies focusing on research and development
Åbne Scene is a residency program for professional, self-producing performing artists focusing on artistic development work. The residency program exclusively supports work-in-process projects in the independent performing arts field and is curated based on an annual open call, which artists across all performing arts genres can apply for.
Åbne Scene offers time for experiments and immersion in the well-equipped technical black box at Godsbanen, technical assistance and guidance from the stage’s technical team, as well as the opportunity for accommodation in one or more of Godsbanen’s guest rooms.
Åbne Scene prioritizes projects that work with artistic research, knowledge sharing, and interaction with local actors and environments, and that specifically require a black box. Read more here.
