SKINFLICK afspejler vores tids forbrugsdrevne og pornografiske kultur, og udforsker det komplekse og tredobbelte gensidige forhold mellem objekt, observatør og skærm.

SKINFLICK nærstuderer disse visuelle mekanismer og undersøger yderligere, hvordan den repetitive, billedlige selviscenesættelse flytter fokus fra repræsentation og indhold til forbrugets dynamikker. Forbrug er i sig selv en dybt tvetydig handling: Det kan begejstre, men kun kortvarigt; det kan tilfredsstille, men det nærer også en vedvarende kedsomhed, der driver os til at opsøge det igen og igen — en selvforbrugende cyklus af personificerende, tilegnede identiteter og mangesidige fortolkninger.

Hvad vil det sige at opholde sig i egen krop, mens man samtidig betragter den på afstand?

Forestillingen vises i samarbejde med The Gender House Queer Arts Festival og Åbne Scene / Godsbanen.

OM ARISANDMARTHA
arisandmartha er et kunstnerisk samarbejde mellem danserne, performererne og koreograferne Aris Papadopoulos og Martha Pasakopoulou, baseret i Athen, Grækenland. Siden 2016 har de arbejdet sammen og kombineret deres individuelle interesser og æstetik i en fælles dialog. Deres arbejde befinder sig i krydsfeltet mellem sceneproduktioner og stedsspecifikke danseforestillinger, hvor de integrerer bevægelse, performative sprog, tekst og konceptuelle ideer. De udforsker temaer som fællesskab, iscenesættelse af venskab som fænomen, re-enactment og brug af ready-made materialer, nutidige ritualpraksisser samt strategier for aktivering og performance af arkiveret materiale.

SKINFLICK reflects the consumerist, pornographic culture of our time. It explores the complex and triply reciprocal relationship between object, observer, and screen. In SKINFLICK, we expanded our study of visual mechanisms, examining the repetitive production of imagery to shift focus from representation and content to the dynamics of consumption. Consumption itself, of course, is a highly ambiguous act: it can excite, but only briefly, it can satisfy, yet it also fuels a lingering boredom that drives the viewer to seek it repeatedly — a self-consuming cycle of embodied, acquired identities and layered interpretations.

What does it mean to inhabit one’s own body while simultaneously observing it from afar?

ABOUT ARISANDMARTHA
arisandmartha is the creative collaboration between dancers, performers, and choreographers Aris Papadopoulos and Martha Pasakopoulou. Based in Athens, Greece, they work at the intersection of staged and site-specific dance performances, pushing the boundaries of choreography by integrating movement, performance languages, text, and conceptual ideas. The duo explores themes of togetherness, the performance of friendship on stage, re-enactment and ready-made materials, contemporary ritual practices, and strategies for activating and performing archives.
