Joyful Music to Celebrate Life is an interdisciplinary project with four performers – three musicians and one movement artist – created by composer and interdisciplinary artist James Black.
The project delves into some of life’s most profound questions through music, dance, video, and text. Developed collaboratively by the composer and performers during several intensive residency periods, the work begins with a fundamental question: What does it mean to be alive?
During the residency in Aarhus, the artists will engage with an audience previously interviewed on this question. Later, the ideas explored during the residencies will be shaped into a cohesive performance.
