Naturens nærhed er inspirationskilden i dette projekt, hvor sanseindtryk og forbindelser til bestemte områder/felter i naturen fortolkes over i tekstile kunstophæng.

Lys, mørke, duft, tekstur og farver bliver til felter i flader, der sammen med oplevelsen af former og lag definerer udtrykket.
Ordet FELT har en dobbelt-betydning, da det på henholdsvis dansk kan betyde: område og på engelsk i datid: følte. Kort sagt. Sammenholdt beskriver begge betydninger projektets kerne.
Arbejdsmetoden er en vekselvirkning mellem forskellige freestyle-patchworkteknikker for at finde ønskede kompositioner. Materialerne er indsamlede genbrugs- og resttekstiler hvor hovedparten er plantefarvet til projektet. Sammenholdt opstår derved symbiosen mellem jord /plante, menneske og det abstrakte.
Conni Hjort Madsen er tekstil- og billedkunstner og oprindeligt uddannet scenograf.

FELT
The proximity of nature is the source of inspiration in this project, where the sensory impressions and the connection to specific places/fields in nature are interpreted into textile art hangings. Light, darkness, scent, texture and colors become fields in surfaces that, together with the experience of shapes and layers, define the expression.
The word FELT has a double meaning, as in Danish it can mean: area and in English in the past tense: sensed. Shortly said. Taken together, both meanings describe the core of the project.
The working method is an interaction between different freestyle patchwork to find disired composition. The materials are collected recycled and residual textiles, most of which are plant dyed for the project. Together, the symbiosis between earth/plant, human and the abstract arises.
Conni Hjort Madsen is a textile and visual artist and originally trained as scenographer.
